Our students, averaging about 100 per week during the ski season, benefit from the outdoor environment and the excitement of skiing, but more importantly, from the gains they make in motor control, strength, balance and coordination. Learning to ski, even when tethered to a coach, involves sensory processing, attention and problem solving, requiring self-control and motivation. Important life skills such as trust, commitment and responsibility are also gained or improved upon in the process of learning to ski. Our students, by getting on the slopes and participating in skiing, are presented with a rather unique and fun way to achieve personal growth and overcome limitations.
